International Colloquium on the Cuban Five Begins Today in Holguin

The 5th International Colloquium in favor of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters who remain unjustly imprisoned in the United States begins today in the eastern province of Holguin with the participation of more than 200 delegates from all continents. The list of participants includes political activists, lawyers, writers, journalists, parliamentarians and religious leaders interested in spreading the truth about the case of Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labanino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Gerardo Hernandez.
D’Escoto’s UN Farewell Speech to Include Cuban Five Case

Miguel D´Escoto, president of the United Nations General Assembly announced in Managua, Nicaragua, that he will denounce in his farewell speech the injustices done by the US government in the case of the Cuban Five. D’Escoto, a Nicaraguan priest, will denounce that the US administration, once informed by the Cuban authorities of terrorist plans revealed by the Five, as they are known internationally, moved against them instead of stopping such plans.

The Organizing Committee recognizes that the lives and the resistance showed by these Five Cubans are "a clear testimony of their compromise with their political and pacific fight for the Cuban self determination and its right to have a government emerged from the Revolution that cost so much sacrifice to the Cuban people".

European Congress of Solidarity with Cuba and the Cuban Five
The 41 delegations from 21 countries, participating in the European Congress of Solidarity with Cuba, held in Luxembourg on November 20-21, passed a resolution condemning all terrorist attempts against Cuba and demanding that the US authorities immediately prevent all subversive actions against the island. They also demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the Cuban Five and sent a letter of solidarity to them.
Andean Parliament Adopts Resolution in Support of the Five
The agreement was adopted by the Andean Parliament in its 25th session last week in Quito, Ecuador. The resolution urged the United States to respect the human rights of the Cuban Five and their relatives by allowing family visits. It also stresses the "inalienable right" of children to maintain direct contact with their parents.
